1.) The scientist uses the [Discovery function] to discover relevant archives. If they find the information, they can request it directly from the discovery surface. If they do not think this is the right archive, the process ends.
2.) The scientist uses the discovered knowledge to formulate a Request for information. Results based on the RFI is retrieved through the [Information access coordination function], but not transformed as the scientist wants raw data. The response to the RFI (unaltered raw archives) is made accessible to the scientist through the [Provide Access process]. The entire process is fully automated.
