The Archivist's Toolbox is a set of individual small components that carry out technical quality assurance tasks like file format validation, metadata extraction, virus checks, arrangement logic control, file migration etc. The toolbox currently includes a number of custom-developed logical controls for the arrangement and archival description, JHove, DROID etc. The toolbox can be called from ingest and preservation tools (ASTRA and Preservica), and according to need specific checks or modules can be replaced, added or removed.
